Party of the Sun returns with nostalgia-soaked "Song for You" - (5/9/19)
Party of the Sun creates music that feels immediately familiar and infinitely distinct. Perhaps it's the honest yearning in singer Ethan McBrien's croon. It could be the delicate and lush acoustic soundscapes harking back to an analog age. Whatever it may be, we continue to be enthralled by their artistic expression.
After nearly a year since their last release, we are presented with "Song For You.” An intimate and wistful love song on the impact of memory, hope, and longevity. If this is a sign of what’s in store for upcoming Party of the Sun output, it will be worth the wait.
“Song For You” is out May 9th on digital via Trailing Twelve.

Party of the Sun is an indie folk band from New Hampshire, led by songwriter Ethan McBrien and producer/multi-instrumentalist Rory Hurley.
Since 2006, both McBrien and Hurley have recorded and performed together with funk/rock fusion outfit The Youngest Sun. Throughout his career, McBrien has had an interest in folk music; writing many songs influence by the American tradition.
In the fall of 2015, McBrien and Hurley began recording this material. These collaborative sessions at McBrien’s home - a small sheep farm in Marlborough, NH - were the impetus of what would later become Party of the Sun.
The first recordings from Party of the Sun surfaced in summer of 2017 via LA-based independent label Trailing Twelve Records.
