Derek Simpson’s Shares "Learn to Fly" - (7/25/19)

“Learn to Fly” along with the previously released singles will be included on a forthcoming LP entitled KiNG SUN. The LP will include a total of eleven original compositions.

From Derek: “Learn To Fly is a song I scrapped and rewrote three separate times. I wanted to write an honest piece about what it means to take initiative in a loving relationship. In pop music we're often shown the romanticism of falling in love, but we are not often told about the hard work that a relationship predominantly consists of after the fact. Falling in love is great, but it's just falling. The next steps are worth just as much conversation, celebration, and exposure, if not more!"

“Learn To Fly” is out July 25th and is taken from the forthcoming KiNG SUN LP out August 15th via Trailing Twelve.

BIO

Derek Simpson is an American recording artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. After gaining success with multiple free album releases on Soundcloud (under the pseudonym Planetarian) from 2013 to 2016, Derek moved from Boston to Long Beach to continue recording his own music and surround himself with other up-and-coming artists in need of songwriting help and production. Layering spacey guitar chords and electric piano lines with dense and introspective wordplay, Derek's music often explores the value of holding a positive perspective in the face of confusion or adversity. His respect for focus and hard work shows in his recordings, all of which are fully written, produced, composed, and mixed by himself.

Derek has produced music for Kevin Abstract, Dom McLennon, Rockie Fresh and more. His music has also been featured in Comedy Central's Workaholics.
