Party of the Sun release See Space available October 19th on Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve Records.

Party of the Sun is a psychedelic folk band from New Hampshire, comprised of Ethan McBrien, Rory Hurley, and Garrett Cameron. Writing and recording in various nature-bound locations, such as a small New England sheep farm, the band has released four EPs and two full-length albums over the span of just a few years.

After devising a mystical system to write and release works on a monthly basis, Party of the Sun’s efforts continue with “See Space”, a tranquil meditation on nature, conflict, and cyclicality. “See Space” features sparse acoustic guitars accompanying the band’s trademarked poetic and thought-provoking lyrics. Party of the Sun dips into familiar territory on the track, as the ambient yet psychedelic instrumental fills the cozy niche they have carved for themselves. The band spoke about the writing/recording process for “See Space” below

“ …we explored new arrangements in preparation for summer shows, the sound is full, it feels good. We track guitar and drums live for this one, a common workflow for the Capsule project. Rory and I arrange as we go. Garrett adds mandolin and vibes a few days later, these textures unlock the piece”

Lead singer Ethan McBrien gently croons about metaphorical winds and babbling brooks reminiscent of folk contemporaries Fleet Foxes or Big Thief. What Party of the Sun continues to do so well to set them apart from these indie superstars, is their ability to take the listener to a specific time and place. The lyrics of “See Space” are especially abstruse, unraveling like a cypher across the three minute runtime.

Dance and dive and dip the cold air / versus is the trap young one / in life as long as this

“See Space” continues Party of the Sun’s busy release schedule as they have dropped a new single every month since October 2021 with an average of 10,000 monthly listeners. They have also garnered 300k+ cross-platform streams with support from Under the Radar, Atwood, Glide, and For The Rabbits in that time.

“See Space” is out October 19th, 2022 on Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve.
