Alesia Lani Gets Low With love like lofi EP (8 March 2024)

Alesia Lani teams up with FLOST8 to release her new EP ‘love like lofi’ available March 8th on Digital Formats via Trailing Twelve Records.

On the heels of her acclaimed album Self Titled and multiple music video releases, Alesia Lani is set to release her new five-song EP ‘love like lofi.’ The Austin, Texas songstress teams up with eclectic beatmaker FLOST8 to explore the lofi genre - departing from her more polished R&B productions and bringing her audience into a world they can lay back and vibe in.

This shift in sound and atmosphere can be felt immediately through the opening song “pass that.” A pitched-down vocal starts the track before Alesia’s soulful laid-back vocals enter. Alesia sings the hook “roll it up, light it up, smoke it up, let go” while a catchy sampled flute moves like smoke rings in the air. Despite the carefree nature of the EP, Alesia creates moments of intimacy and yearning with her song “wait 4 you.” The track remains stripped back with melancholy keys, a simple drum loop, and Alesia’s sultry vocals draped in a fine layer of reverb. From the first drops of distant rain on the lead single and KUTX Song Of The Day “homebody,” Alesia’s lyrics “I love these rainy days” transport the listener into a cozy room that mirrors the imagery on the EP artwork. The intimate production wraps itself like a warm blanket around Alesia’s sultry vocals as she expresses the desire to “stay inside…and make love all night.”

Alesia describes the project as a “soft and vulnerable” side of herself which she first explored in her recent album ‘Self Titled’ through earnest R&B diary entries and powerful ballads. This departure further illustrates Alesia’s ability to fearlessly and effortlessly explore different parts of her personality and artistry.

“I’m continuing to nurture the soft and vulnerable side that I found within myself on my Self-Titled record.”
